Frankly speaking, when I was first standing in front of a KFC menu board in China, I could hardly recognise 80% of the products because they have been heavily customised for the Chinese market, compared to what I was used to in Singapore. There were so many new food items that it was baffling e.g. rice with vegetables, congee, dough sticks etc. But it made absolute sense of course: customising your products for local market demands. Unfortunately I didn’t try these new products and always stuck to my original recipe chicken pieces. No experimentation here. I wanted my chicken. Dot.
