Here are some interesting food names from a restaurant in another part of the city. Obviously the English translation is completely off because I think the restaurant must have trusted an online translation software app. I heard from my Chinese friends that the main motivation to try to offer services and products is English to a predominantly Chinese-speaking customer base is that of a branding wish to look and sound upmarket and international. In most cases, I think some restaurants will try to offer the menu in English but they are not going to a lot of efforts to see if the the translation is correct. It looks English and that is good enough.
