A Crow Pose at the Great Wall of China

Beijing, 2011

You would have probably heard so much about the Great Wall of China. Maybe you saw it in movies, documentaries or saw a post card or read books about it. But to see it in person face-to-face is really something else. To build these massive structures up and down these rugged mountains I think must have needed an absolute amount of will power and an endless amount of resources.

But when I talk to my local colleagues about the Great Wall of China, they are always quick to point out that it was built based on imperial orders at that time and that tens of thousands of people perished building it.

I went see the different parts of the Great Wall of China altogether about four or five times during my ten years in China. So its not a topic that I can write about in a single post and therefore you can expect a few more posts about the Great Wall of China. The first time I visited it was in 2011 with my family and here you can see me striking up a crow pose while up there. But I barely held for a few seconds.
