You can’t write about China without talking about Kobe. Basketball is a very popular sports in China. According to Wikipedia, “In 2020, about 625 million people in China were fans of basketball, and 143 million people in China were considered hardcore fans…”. And then you have Yao Ming, the greatest basketball player in Chinese history. Kobe’s death in 2020 was a big shock to the Chinese basketball fans.
