China was one of the last places on earth where you can get away with copyright infringements especially if you are a small business. One day I saw Forrest Gump and Captain America near a cinema complex (okay, maybe the cinema was not really such a small business). Another day I saw a minion inflatable being used for a sales promotion outside a supermarket. I could be wrong, but I am assuming these are copyright infringements. But that was way back in 2014. Things have changed a lot over the years. Public awareness and education, strict enforcement of copyright laws etc have drastically improved to protect intellectual property. But this is a country of 1.4 billion people, enforcing copyright laws is a long process and this will take some time.
