In the evening, “Happy Valley” took on a different look and continued to be an attractive family place to hangout. I remember having dinner at the theme park as the kids were getting hungry. And there was this tea cup ride which brought me back childhood memories. My dad brought us to this theme park in the 1970s called “Kallang Wonderland Park”. Its no more there now, having been closed in 1988. But I remember quite vividly that my brothers, myself and my mum sat inside this tea cup and took the ride at that time (see below). My mother was very happy and very amused. I think it was called the “Ovaltine Tea Cup Ride” back then. She is no more around too. She passed away in 2013. She was 77. Life is quite funny. Sometimes, you travel so far away from home, just to see something that tucks you back in.
