I have flown China Eastern Airlines countless number of times during my 10 years in China. For many domestic flights as well as for international flights to and fro Singapore and Australia. Other than the occasional delays which happens to all airlines in the world, China Eastern Airlines was a premium airlines to fly with. I never witnessed any safety issues and the crew always offered first class customer service. In fact the airlines was so good that Singapore Airlines considered purchasing 20% of it in 2006. That is why I was shocked and very upset when I heard that a China Eastern flight had crashed onto the mountains on the way from Kunming to Guangzhou in March 2022 killing all 123 passengers on board. I could almost immediately picture in my head the typical crowd on such flight: office workers, families, kids and some flying for the first time in their lives. It is really a sad day not only for the those who died but also for China Eastern Airlines. I offer my deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. May Buddha The Almighty give everyone peace.
