This is a scary-looking shark at the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium. I know that we have all seen some shark horror movies. But the truth is that a shark attack on humans is very rare. In fact, lightning strikes and fireworks kill more people than sharks. The reverse is actually more relevant. Shark populations have been reduced by 71% since the 1970s mostly due to overfishing. Shark meat and shark fin soup are especially popular in Asia. If you are reading this, please stop having shark meat and shark fins soup.
