When I went to Shanghai in 2009, my daughter was 7 and my son was 3. We already had a collection of books with us but we bought more books when in Shanghai. We didn’t have close friends or relatives in Shanghai to spend time with and reading was one of the pastimes that helped us fill that void. I read a lot and so did my daughter and we also read to our son everyday. My daughter actually read all of Harry Potter’s seven books right there in Shanghai. We bought our books from several great bookshops we knew in Shanghai. But buying them online is a great option which we didn’t use but I think is the way to go today.
