It’s a hard life for high school kids in China

A small town in Henan. 2016

I think the high school kids, aged between 15 and 19, do it tough in China compared to most other countries. First of all, it is mandatory for you to stay in the dormitories, no matter how close you live near the high school. There is hardly any time for you to visit your family and even if there is, it is a very short amount of time. You only go back to your families during public holidays and school breaks. Secondly they have super long hours. Classes can start as early as 5.30am and end as late as 10.00pm. I think kids at this age in China practically grow-up in the high schools and you cannot normally see them outside.
