I read people for a living in my work as a change manager and almost without realising it, in my day life too. I was doing exactly that, while seated in a China Southern Airlines flight from Melbourne to Guangzhou. Definitely a lot of seasoned travellers. Not too many people looking for their seats or standing at the aisle having a conversation or shouting across the seats. It would have been quite a different scenario in a domestic flight in China with a lot of good folks from small towns and farms.
