It was 6.00am. I had an hour more before I caught my transit flight from Guangzhou to Beijing. I didn’t want to sleep and kept walking around the transit hall. At the end of the long hall stood a huge video screen featuring a China Customs video about the do’s and don’ts in the airport. A lot of people in China only started flying in the last ten years. This kind of public education helps to build awareness about the right behaviours in airports. But it will take a long time for a country of this size, probably 5 to 10 years.
