I had previously written about the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. Adjacent to it is the Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station which offers rails and high speed trains to pretty much anywhere in China. We returned from the Hangzhou trip to Shanghai and arrived at this station. It was of course crowded and this is a topic you cannot run away from anywhere in China. But other than that, everything was clean, orderly and professional. No beggars. No peddlers. No pickpocket thieves. No dodgy characters. No graffiti. Absolutely a safe feeling coming back home to Shanghai.
