I thought Costa Coffee was a Chinese Brand

Shanghai. Oct 2011

While in Shanghai, we have always been to Starbucks for coffee. The second most visited place has to be Costa Coffee. I never actually knew during all that years in China that Costa actually started as a British business, is now a Coco-Cola company, is in 3,401 locations around the world (460 in China) and is the second largest coffeehouse chain in the world. Here I was sitting in Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station after my Hangzhou trip, sipping a coffee with my family before catching a cab home thinking that Costa was a local Chinese brand. The truth is that there were so many things in China that I never really paid attention to. I was really ignorant. That’s why I love writing this blog because it gives me a chance to revisit and reflect, to fill in the gaps and to make sense of it all. My 10 years in china.
