I had a stopover flight at Chengdu while returning back from a vacation in Australia. I didn’t want to stay in the airport for four hours and took a cab to the nearest suburb to look around. From a foreigner’s point of view, it looked just like any other suburb in China. There were modern areas with shopping centres like the one above with Starbucks as well as older areas. I walked around, took some pictures, had a plate of Sichuan fried noodles at a roadside shop and went back to the airport. That was all 4 hours could do.
