One day I saw a massive State event in my hotel TV. It was the 150 years’ anniversary of Sun Yat-sen. For those of us who don’t know who Sun Yat-sen is, according to Wikipedia: “He is called the “Father of the Nation” in the Republic of China, and the “Forerunner of the Revolution” in the People’s Republic of China for his instrumental role in the overthrow of the Qing dynasty during the Xinhai Revolution.” At that time when I was watching it, I didn’t know what was it all about other than being blown away by the grandness, formality and scale of the State event.
