This trip to Beijing was an idea from my family to bring me to the Great Wall of China on my birthday. We had booked a half day private tour in English to bring us to the Great Wall of China on the 1st Feb afternoon. We arrived from Shanghai to Beijing in the morning and checked into the Holiday Inn Central Plaza Beijing. Soon after checking in and going up my room, I got a knock on the door. I opened the door and was surprised to receive a complimentary birthday cake from the hotel. The front desk staff must have been were pretty sharp when I checked-in and must have noted that it was my birthday. It made my day even more pleasant. Thank you very much Holiday Inn.
