My Japanese colleague Ota visited me when I was in Tokyo from Osaka, a bullet train ride of 2-3 hours. I was organising a large Asia Pacific marketing symposium in 2010 and he was posted to my project for 6 months in Shanghai. We had a great working relationship and we became good friends soon. I really appreciated that he took the time to see me in Tokyo when I was there for the Tokyo Motor Show. We had dinner at a local sushi place. I am not into Japanese food or sushi but I didn’t want to give up the chance to try authentic Japanese food. Plus spending time with Ota was a pleasure and a great privilege.
