This was a whole chicken chopped-up from head to feet and made into a curry, Chinese-style. I don’t think this is Shanghainese food but most probably a cuisine from a neighbouring province. I know it doesn’t look much but this was one of my favourite dishes when I first moved to Shanghai from Singapore in 2009. Mainland China’s Chinese food was quite different from Singapore Chinese food. I was not yet quite ready to be adventurous in China and just stuck to predictable dishes like this one.
