My kids’ international school allowed only black shoes for school. We didn’t want to cut corners on our kids’ shoes lest they slip or trip. We checked around with other parents and it looked like most of them got their black leather school shoes from Marks & Spencers in Shanghai. So one day we made a trip there to get these ridiculously expensive shoes and also took the opportunity to eat, of course. We had chicken baguettes which came with salad and chips as sides. As they say in down under, it was delish.
