It was getting dark. Some of the stalls in my neighbourhood night market were not near any of the street lights and were in darkness. But they had brought their own portable LED lights. These few stalls were selling bracelets and beads. Most men in China wear some sort of a bead bracelet. The beads are made from all kinds of natural stones and are believed to bring various health benefits such as cooling your body during the summer. People also used it as a Feng Shui amulet to bring wealth and good fortune. They bought these bracelets for themselves as well as for occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day etc.
