Shenyang Winter 2018

Shenyang, 2018

I grew up in Singapore with a temperature of about 30-24 centigrade degrees (86 to 75 F) throughout the year. When I moved to Shanghai for five years, it was about 35-0 degrees (95 to 32 F). I also lived in Beijing for a year and its temperature was about 30 to -5 degrees (86 to 23 F). But four years in Shenyang was much colder with the temperatures between 35 and -20 degrees (95 to -4). The locals told me that it used to be as low as -30 (-22 F) in Shenyang. Global warming? Maybe, I don’t know. But it was certainly an incredible journey for me to move from a tropical climate in Singapore to freezing Shenyang winters with Siberian winds.
