This is my usual entrance to my office, Gate 2. You can see the Chinese, German and BMW flags outside. The company ran about 100 buses to ferry staff from various points in the city to work and back. Those who had company car could park inside. I was given a company car but unfortunately I never took it mainly because I didn’t want to go for a driving course and a driving exam because you need to drive on left side in China, whereas in Singapore and Australia, you drove on the right side. And also I was worried about driving in the local roads. On hindsight, I regret not taking the company car for five years. I have lost the opportunity to interact with the company’s various products. A really stupid decision in my life. If your company gives you a car in China, take it.
