The Old Leifeng Pagoda

The Leifeng Pagoda is an octagonal, five-story tower of brick and wood with a base built of bricks build in AD875. Japanese pirates destroyed the pagoda in 1550 leaving behind only a brick skeleton which eventually collapsed in 1924. The Pagoda was eventually rebuilt in 2002 and is one of the highlights if you visit Hangzhou.
