Over the years, I had the opportunity to work with many interns in China who were assigned to some of my projects. Normally the internship lasted between six to twelve months and the interns were often students doing their thesis or last assignments on their masters degrees. I had the opportunity to work with about 7 local interns and 3 German interns throughout my time in China in both Shanghai and Shenyang. All of them were brilliant and extremely hardworking. They always needed some handholding at the beginning to understand the project, key stakeholders, tasks etc. But after that they were quite independent and highly reliable. My last two interns in China before I left were Yaoyao and Luhan in Shenyang who offered me great support in two important but tough projects. I bought them some gifts at a farewell dinner at end of June 2018. We still say hello to each other once in a while via WeChat. I will always wish them the very best in their lives.
