One of the school holidays I brought my family to Suzhou for a trip. I was actually already in Suzhou for a department team event and I took annual leave to extend my stay in Suzhou. And I arranged for my regular driver to bring my family from Shanghai to Suzhou. Actually if they had taken the high speed train, it would have only taken them 25 minutes instead of 1.5 hours. But I didn’t check this option at that time. One of the attractions near Suzhou surprisingly was called “cowboy town”. They had horse, pony and camel rides, speed boat rides, rock climbing activities, go-kart racing, a small animal zoo and couple of food and game stalls. You can easily spend half-a-day there and it’s really good fun for the family. But I have no idea if its still there or if it was only a temporary attraction in 2012. But one thing I witnessed in that trip was the expert horsemanship of the Mongolians who were working there. These guys were simply amazing.
