When I relocated from Shenyang to Beijing for a year, I stayed in a hotel for couple of weeks until I found an apartment. This was the normal relocation process with the company. I considered living in hotel for a year but it didn’t fit into the housing budget given by my company. My housing agent brought me to see couple of apartment properties and I eventually settled into a newly renovated small airy apartment with lots of light coming in. It had one bedroom, a hall, a kitchen and a shower with WC. It was on the 6th floor of a high rise apartment building about 5 minutes taxi ride to my office building. It was fully furnished and it was perfect. I viewed the property, paid the deposit and moved in all in the same day.
