Back in 2011, during one of my first visits to the Great Wall of China, I found long stretches of metal locks hanging on chains along the Great Wall of China. Some of them had inscriptions in Chinese. I never really found about these mystery locks at that time. But only much later. Apparently these are called “love locks”, symbols of love that couples leave behind not only at the Great Wall of China but also around other touristic places around the world.
