Smoked ham and cheddar cheese croissants for the price a meal in China

Shenyang, 2016

China, similar to other Asian countries, does not have a big baking culture as in the US, UK, Europe, Russia or Australia. You can therefore find many pastry shops in China because it is a good business. Smoked ham with cheddar cheese RMB 20 (USD 3.1). Curry chicken and tuna corn puffs RMB 18 (USD 2.8). I think this is a splurge for the average working class family in China because you can have a proper decent meal for RMB 10-20 (USD1.5-3). Why buy a croissant?

Curry Chicken Puffs. RMB 18 (USD 2.8).
Tuna corn puffs. RMB 18 (USD 2.8)
