Most Common Treatment for Fever and Cold: Intravenous Drip

Beijing. May, 2016

When you go and see a doctor for cold or fever in China, the first thing they do is to stick a needle in your veins and give you an intravenous drip for two to four hours. I was initially anxious about this treatment method because in Singapore they will always give you the pills first. But eventually I got used to it and even actually started liking this method of treatment because I always felt 50% better immediately on the same day or the very next day. This particular time, I had fever while working in Beijing.
