A Business Dinner: Teppanyaki Cooking

Shenyang. Jun 2014

The company had initiated a large scale company-wide process optimisation program shortly before I joined. The pilot project was kicked-off with the sourcing process and it needed change management support. I was assigned to this project and it became my first change management project. I found it challenging to find time in some of the senior key stakeholders calendars to have an initial conversation. Therefore after discussing with my line manager, we decided to bring them out for a teppanyaki cooking session to have that first conversation. You cannot do this every time but this time it turned out to be a brilliant idea. It paved the way for many more constructive conversations back in office which helped me built the foundation for a highly successful change management plan.
