One of the nights in Seoul, we had dinner in a really fancy restaurant. We had a fried fish carved into easy chunks so that its “chopsticks-friendly” and plated with a sauce. Then a pork dish presented with what looks like spun sugar. Very fancy. I normally stayed away from fancy restaurants mainly because they are over priced. I grew up in Singapore where we ask ourselves why pay $10 for a plate of Hokkien noodles in a fancy restaurant when you can get one for $3 from the hawker stalls, and very often more authentic and more delicious? I did the same while in China and avoided expensive restaurants. But its always nice to know what fancy food feels like once in a while, this time in Korea.
