My wife and myself were both working when we relocated to Shanghai. We therefore hired a stay-in domestic helper or a “ayi” as they call in China, a common practice amongst the expatriates. Our first ayi was a Filipino and later we found English-speaking Chinese ones. This was a typical meal for our kids: hash browns, scrambled eggs and tomato egg soup. My kids were not fussy eaters and they happily ate whatever our helper cooked. Eventually they migrated from Western dishes to completely Chinese ones.
