There were few times a year when some of my kids’ friends came over to my house for a play date or ours went over to theirs. Sometimes we brought them out for meals and to play but kept their parents informed. This time an Indian boy whose parents were expatriates in China came to my house. We brought him to eat in Papa John’s, a family pizza place in Shanghai and to play some games. These were some of my son’s happiest times in Shanghai, when he had playmates.
