The navratan korma was one for those dishes we commonly ordered whenever we ate in Indian restaurants in Shanghai. Its not spicy and you cannot go wrong with this dish, especially for the kids. “Nav” means nine and “ratan” means jewels in Sanskrit. As the name suggests, its a creamy dish with aromatic spices and 9 types of vegetables and nuts. There are many different versions and this version from the “Indian Kitchen” has carrots, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, green beans and others.
