One trivial but interesting item I found at the Qibao Ancient Town was small colourful stone-like materials in a stall. They were not expensive precious stones but rather some sort of synthetic materials for jewellery-making hobbyists. They were in various colours like blue, purple, red, pink, black, green, grey and were available colourless as well as in mixed colours. They came in pear-shaped, round, diamond, rectangular and other fancy shapes. But they all had a small hole in them in the corner. My auntie and myself didn’t buy them but had great fun looking through them.
