In China, McDonald’s is known as “Maidanglao”, its Chinese transliteration. Other than that, I am not an expert to explain the differences in its menu or shop appearances between Singapore, China and Australia. While in Shanghai, we rarely went to McDonalds preferring Starbucks over it. While in Shenyang I went to KFC more often simply because it was just below my apartment. Therefore, all in all, I can estimate that I went o McDonalds only about ten times while in China for ten years. Well, today is one of those ten days as I brought my Singapore auntie for a meal while sightseeing at the Yuyuan Gardens.
