Other than the annual home trips to Singapore, the only other international place we visited during the five years in Shanghai was Cebu, Philippines. There was no direct flight to Cebu and we had to transit in Manila. The holiday plan was simple. Stay in a typical beach resort for a week and do nothing. No sightseeing excursions. No trip to the local zoo. No visit to the underwater sea world. We just stayed in the hotel, spending our time at the swimming pools there and sometimes went out for snorkelling and diving. I have to say it was so far the best holiday trip we have ever had in our lives.
