Shanghai Museum. First of all, its a world-class showcasing China’s thousands of years of history in art, culture and religion. All the signs and labels in the museum are in both Chinese and English and the staff also speak excellent English. Secondly, despite the world-class set-up and organisation, the museum is completely free for everyone. I think this is a great gesture from the Shanghai local government to promote Chinese art and culture amongst its citizens as well as domestic and international tourists. I have been there twice and I don’t mind going there again because there is always something new to discover here.
