I think everyone is quite familiar with the sweet flaky egg roll which is like a pastry snack. I grew up eating it in Singapore and I consider it a Chinese snack. However it’s interesting to note that Wiki says that it originated in Spain. Anyways, I saw a large version of this egg pastry roll in his small county. The lady had something like a pancake griddle with a lid. She poured some batter onto the hot plate, pressed it with the lid. She then rolled it up, let it cool before packing it away into plastic bags to sell to people.
