One of the local customs in Shenyang that I got used to was the wedding car routine. Firstly, you will know that someone is getting married in the compound when you see a guy walking around at 7.00am placing rocks on red papers on the ground which will act as directions for the cars. Secondly, the fire works will start at 9.00am when about ten cars enter the compound in a grand show. Rented Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Volvo etc. Thirdly, the groom will appear to escort his darling to the wedding venue, trailed by photographers. I have seen them many times from my window. The cars and the couple change but the routine is always the same.
