I saw an outdoor apparel advertisement in Shenyang metro one day. It said “If you want something you’ve never had then you’ve got to do something you’ve never done”. Getting a higher education. Learning a new skill. Making a mid-career switch. Relocating to a new city. Whatever you want to do in your life. There is absolutely no way you can do it, if you do not leave your comfort zone. Personally speaking, this has always worked for me. Moving out of Singapore to Shanghai. Then shifting to Shenyang to work for the BMW company. Then relocating to completely a new country, Australia. The pains were there, but so were the gains.
