This is a snap shot of a street poster in Shenyang in 2014. You may be familiar with Disney’s 2020 film “Mulan” which is about a legendary Chinese folk heroine who took her old father’s place in conscription by disguising herself as a man. Before that Disney had also made an animated film in 1998. The Chinese had also made an action war blockbuster version of it in 2009. I watched this 2009 version in 2014 while in Shenyang. In that movie, the breathtakingly beautiful Vicky Zhao played the titular character Mulan. I have to say that she was absolutely spectacular in that role and I think she is the best Mulan ever.
