I organise large scale events regularly as part of my marketing, corporate communication and change management roles. And after a while this became a bit of an obsession because whenever I saw an event anywhere, I would just stand there and look at it. And I would also make mental notes on what was great about this event and where else they could have done better. I know this sounds weird but I have been doing this for a long time. I was in downtown one day in Shenyang and an opening ceremony for a new private english school in progress. I just stood there and watched it until it ended and then started my weekend shopping errands.
