I have been to many barbecue shops in Shenyang. But by far, the ultimate barbecue street chef was this gentleman at this barbecue street they open every summer. I don’t know his name or his background. I don’t know if he came back the following summer. But in this summer, he was the best street barbecue chef I have ever met in my life. If you could only stand there and watch him practice his craft. He looked after the fire and had a proper process going. He handled the skewers expertly and his timing was impeccable. Every plate of barbecued food he delivered was perfectly grilled and absolutely delicious.
