One thing that baffles me is the number of shoe shops in the night market.Today I counted six shops selling shoes: sports shoes, casual shoes, sandals and ladies’ heels. I have no idea if this is part of Chinese culture or if this is a Shenyang thing, that people want to buy so many shoes. Is it because that it is cold with snow for most parts of the year in Shenyang and that people want to celebrate summer with an assortment of shoes? I don’t know. For myself, I always had only three pairs of shoes for casual use: a croc, a sports shoe and a pair of boots and another three pairs of office shoes for work. Maybe its just me. I am not a shoes guy.
