A Benxi wedding from my hotel window

Aug 2014. Benxi

I am an early riser regardless of whether I am on weekend trips or long holidays. I was working on my laptop when I heard fire crackers outside my hotel. That only meant three things in China: a major festival, a wedding or a new shop opening. It wasn’t a major festival today and therefore it had to be one of the other. I looked out the window and realised that it was a wedding. A black Jaguar had pulled up in front of the hotel and the bride and her family were standing there. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen next and I wasn’t going to stand there and see but fire crackers at 7.00am on a weekend morning in front of a hotel was not cool.
