When I travel alone, I stay cheap, I eat cheap and I do sightseeing cheap. So much so that some Chinese people might be surprised to see a foreigner doing so cheap. But I really didn’t care. In fact I loved it. I just wanted to step out of my corporate work life once in a while. No bloody planning the day. Just being flexible and therefore free. This is one of those trips when I took a high-speed train to a nearby city called Anshan for a long weekend. I checked into the Dongshan hotel which I booked via Ctrip. And this is how a breakfast area looks in a 2 or 3 star hotel in China. Nothing fancy here, simple and clean and I loved it.
