Over the years, I became familiar with the key town features of China. They always have a large open space for people to gather in downtown and also in large suburbs. A large concreted space or a tiled ground with some sort of a large centre piece. People gather here both in the day and night for all sorts of leisure activities: walking, playing, dancing and exercising. It’s difficult to find these kind of large open spaces in Singapore due to the land constraint. In Australia, they do it in another way: through large open natural parks. Whichever way, I like the idea of people gathering together in an open space and celebrating life.
