Pomelo, My Favorite Fruit in China

Shanghai, 2010

I think the shops that I have seen being present most consistently in all the cities and places all over the years are – fruit shops. Large shops that sell a huge variety of fruits, mostly according to the seasons. Prices are very reasonable and the seasonal fruits sometimes will be selling at rock bottom prices because of over supply. I think the Chinese must love fruits because these shops are always filled with customers. I have featured pomelos above as they were my most favorite fruit while in Singapore and China. Unfortunately I have hardly eaten it after moving to Australia. You can still buy pomelos in the Asian grocery shops but not in your everyday supermarkets like Coles, Woolsworth and Aldi.
